Anna joined the lab in 2019 and she is a PhD student in the lab. She was born and raised in Gracia – one of the best neighborhoods in Barcelona! She obtained her bachelor in Bioengineering at the Institut Quimic de Sarria (IQS-URL) in the same city. During her last year of bachelor, she went to Denmark as part of an Erasmus programme and she loved it – which is why she decided to move to Copenhaguen to do a MSc in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). After three years of cold and not a lot of sun, she moved back to Barcelona and joined the lab. In her project, she tries to detect RNA modifications at per isoform level to unveil their role in different biological processes such as antibiotic resistance, viral infection and development.
Outiside the lab, you most likely will find her in a basketball court – coaching or playing – and when the season is over, she tries to spend most of her time either hiking in the pyrenees or trying to stand on a paddle surfboard at the beach.
