Leda is a Chemical Engineer by training, but currently on an undercover mission posing as a Computational Biologist and Bioinformatician. Both her undergraduate and master’s theses were carried out in collaboration with Dr. Ioannis Vlachos at the Non Coding Research Lab, Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA), an experience that launched her into the world of cancer immunology, immunoinformatics, and epigenomics.

She joined the Novoa Lab in 2023 as a PhD and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN) student, and is currently working on the integration of tRNA modification information into novel machine learning algorithms for the stratification of cancer patients.

Leda developed a (healthy) obsession with whales after reading “The Swarm” by Frank Schätzing (recently adapted for TV!). She is a cat person with a cat allergy, and a swimmer with mild thalassophobia. She frequently indulges in food tourism, and it was a very dangerous decision to pick up baking and cooking as hobbies.
